This area, the Costa Blanca, has a Mediterranean climate, with the least contrast in weather in all of Spain. Little rainfall and more than 300 days of sunshine a year. The winters are mild and dry, while the Mediterranean climate results in warm and dry summers. However, extreme temperatures don’t happen often. These perfect conditions for cycling is enhanced by the presence of mountains and hills behind the Costa Blanca which retain the warmth of the sea and keep out the cold from the interior in winter.
When to go
The months from October to May are the most popular for cycling trips in the Costa Blanca. Temperatures varies from around 16 to 25 degrees, while June to September are a bit hot for active training days. There is a good chance that you will encounter famous cyclists when you visit the region in December or January
